What it certifies
A family of standards, not one certificate. MIL-STD-810 is environmental testing, MIL-STD-461 is electromagnetic compatibility, MIL-STD-1553 is the data bus.
Why a buyer should care
Meaningless without the number. Always ask which standard and which method within it — "MIL-STD-810 compliant" says nothing until you know whether it was vibration, thermal shock or salt fog.
These are claims published by the suppliers themselves. We have not seen the certificates. Always ask for a current certificate and its scope before placing work.
